Impact of Spending in 2022-2023

In 2022-2023, a large percentage of the funding we received was used to develop the role of a Specialist Sports Coach who was employed to deliver high-quality weekly PE lessons alongside class teachers. As well as the children receiving regular specialist coaching across a range of sports, class teachers received first-class CPD in the shape of coaching and mentoring. Children spoke very highly of their PE lessons, during the academic year, and the wide range of sports they participated in.

During the year, funding was also used to broaden our extra-curricular sports offer so that more of our children were able to try new sports or harness their interest in a particular activity. Children in both KS1 and KS2 spoke extremely positively about the clubs which they attended.

Additional sports equipment was also purchased with the funding to ensure that our PE curriculum and after-school sports clubs could be fully implemented. A review of the quality, quantity and suitability of our equipment is ongoing and will continue to form part of our spending intentions for 2023-2024.
